Recalls are a well-established global practice; from time to time they are announced by almost all manufacturers of not only cars, but also any other industrial products. But since a car is considered a source of increased danger, it is recalls in the automotive industry that attract the most attention and cause the greatest resonance. Check if your car is covered by a recall campaign. Sometimes manufacturers will recall their cars because of substandard parts or workmanship and repair them for free, regardless of the warranty. This is called a recall campaign. More information on 1940 Ford DELUXE recalls can be found in this database. It may be useful to use online problems resource that shows automotive defect patterns, based on complaint data submitted by vehicle owners. The problems are organized into groups with data published by vehicle, component, and specific issue. See also an updated list of 1940 Ford DELUXE problems before buying a used car. In most cases, the recall is initiated by the manufacturer. But it also happens that it is forced to do so. The largest and most scandalous recall campaigns were those that were initiated by complaints and lawsuits from consumers through controlling state structures.

Additional Description: 1940 Ford Deluxe Coupe - All Original Sheet Metal - Supercharged Ford 302 V8 - Custom Paint - Custom Interior - Award Winning and Magazine Featured - (Please note: If you happen to be viewing this vehicle on a website other than our Garage Kept Motors site, it's possible that you've only seen some of our many photographs of this vehicle due to website limitations. To be sure you access all the more than 150 photographs, please go to our main website: GarageKeptMotors.) We're beginning to think that our client has found a pot of street rods at the end of the rainbow! One after another, as he brings us more of his amazing cars to represent, we're equally impressed by each one. Each one has a great story, and learning the history is something that we love to do with each of his cars. In regard to this amazing Ford - whether you can afford to buy this car, or are just looking over the pictures, please also take the time to read about this car - it's sure to impress you. As our client puts it, "this car is a show stopper. Not a run of the mill, belly button checkbook car." With multiple awards and magazine features under his belt, and long term experience building hot rods, we're sure he knows what he's talking about. This beautiful '40 Ford Deluxe Coupe was purchased by our client from a friend who had owned it since 1962. The car sat in pieces in a climate controlled garage after it was disassembled in 1968. When our client acquired it, he found that all the sheet metal - even the floors and fenders - were solid and are original to the car. As bodywork was done during the build of the car, no patch panels were needed! Just a quick walk around this Deluxe Coupe is all you need to do to see that this Ford's paint, and panel fit and finish are show quality. All the brightwork has been re-chromed or polished, lights and lenses are in great condition, and most of the aforementioned parts are original to the car! The impressive color on the car is loosely based on a 1960's Cadillac hue - custom mixed with pearl and modern metallics added. The paint looks incredible in direct sunlight and under the lights in our showroom! Chrome wheels with spider caps wrapped in Diamondback Radial tires (Based on BFGoodrich tires) look awesome. Beneath the car is a new frame with brand new chassis parts bolted on. Aldan coilovers keep the ride and ride height just right, with rack and pinion steering, and Heidts front suspension components rounding out the (short explanation of) suspension specs. Handling and ride are surprisingly good for a vintage, custom car like this. Under the hood is a completely rebuilt Ford 302ci V8 with a TorqStorm Supercharger strapped on it. A blower specific Demon 650 carburetor is perched atop a vintage Cobra-style intake manifold, and to match the Cobra Valve covers, a one-off airbox was machined from billet aluminum. A custom fuel system is in place, a BeCool Radiator helps regulate engine temps, and a mild cam was chosen to compliment the supercharger. The 302 in this coupe makes a great sound, especially when the exhaust cutouts beneath the front fenders are opened! A rebuilt Ford AOD transmission with a shift kit handles gear selection, and a 9" Ford rear end helps get power to the pavement - just be sure to keep the shiny side of this beauty up. There is quite a bit more chrome inside the car than when it left the Ford plant 79 years ago, and it looks phenomenal! The entire dash assembly has been triple chrome plated, as well as the garnish moldings, shift assembly, and the steering column. Relaying engine speed and engine vitals are Classic Instruments gauges, and a shiny, black, restored '40 Ford steering wheel looks just right. White upholstery with gray piping and trim looks great with the gray wool carpeting. This interior is - dare we say it - glamorous. It has an overall high class feel with pleated door panels, simple stitching on the seating surfaces, and of course all that chrome! The whole trunk area has been carefully re-upholstered, and is finished to match the interior trim. On a limited basis this classic has been driven - carefully, and with pride. Of course many a time the car has been loaded up and taken to shows, and garnered attention when doing so. At Syracuse Nationals, Street Rodder Magazine/Ford Motor Company selected this car for their 'Best Ford in a Ford Award' which is an honor, since only 9 Fords receive this award per year. (See Street Rodder Magazine's January 2017 issue for the feature article.) Not only that, it was selected for featured parking at Detroit Autorama Cavalcade of Customs, and Detroit Autorama Extreme. As we mentioned, we really enjoy the history and details of this client's builds/cars and there are many more memories, lots of knowledge, and personal experiences among our client and his friends regarding this amazing '40 Deluxe Coupe. We're lucky enough to have learned what we did, and we're fortunate enough to share it with you. Be sure to check out all the photos and video on our main website: Garage Kept Motors.
